Bertil Osorio Heltoft DK, b. 1990

Bertil Osorio Heltoft (b. 1990, Fyns Hovede; DK) is a visual artist living and working in Copenhagen, Denmark. Influenced by personal memory and storytelling traditions, Heltoft’s eclectic work foregrounds moments of poignant reflection and strange enigmatic phenomena.

Working between painting, drawing, sculpture and installation, the artist channels an otherworldly aesthetic to explore themes relating to personal relationships, self-reflection, human psychology and existential concerns. Archetypal characters or situations often inform Heltoft’s choice of subject, as do photographs of intimate moments shared with friends, or seemingly prosaic situations that hint at the possibility of something more profound.

Bertil Osorio Heltoft received an MFA and BFA from the Funen Art Academy (Funen; DK) having completed additional study at Hfbk Städelschule (Frankfurt am Main; DE). Recent exhibitions include Nightfall at Hew Hood Gallery (London; UK), Something Rotten at Cassius & Co. (London; UK) and Lurid Season at M+B Gallery (Los Angeles; US).
