OTP Copenhagen is proud to present The Historian, a group exhibition with Anna Munk (b. 1994, Aarhus‚ DK), Bertil Osorio Heltoft (b. 1990, Fyns Hovede; DK) and Christian John Munks (b. 1985, Copenhagen; DK).

Focusing on the role of narrative painting, the exhibition presents new work by three Copenhagen-based artists whose practices are informed by specific historical traditions– whether that be 18th-century still-life painting, Swedish coming-of-age documentaries or local myths spread by word-of-mouth.

Exploring such themes such as consumption, desire, voyeurism, masculinity, folk tradition and DIY culture, at the heart of the exhibition is an interest in the fraught relationship between image and historical record.
